HIV Testing in Malawi: Bainatu's Door-to-Door Approach

When Cyclone Freddy hit Malawi in March, the focus shifted from HIV testing and counseling to the immediate needs of affected communities. With collapsed homes, loss of loved ones, and other valuable possessions, it became challenging to reach people for HIV testing.

But our HIV counselor, Bainatu, refused to give up. She decided to try a door-to-door approach, which turned out to be incredibly effective. In just four hours, she was able to test 27 clients in one village.

Bainatu plans to continue using this approach to ensure that people are aware of their HIV status and to help in the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS. We're inspired by her dedication and will continue to support her efforts to reach more people in need.
