Safer Stoves for Safer Communities: George's Story

George, who was diagnosed with a slow growth problem, faced significant challenges in his early childhood. He did not start walking until he was three years old, which put a strain on his family. When he was two years old, he suffered burns from an open fire that his mother was using for cooking. Since then, his mother has carried the burden of guilt.

Unfortunately, George's story is not uncommon. Many people in similar situations are at risk of burn injuries and smoke inhalation from traditional stoves.

To alleviate this problem, we are building safer, fuel-efficient stoves for communities in need. In January of this year, we provided George's family with a brand new stove that offers superior protection to him and his siblings.

According to George's mother, Linley, "This stove is great because it keeps the fire contained and the outer layer remains warm to the touch. I can leave George with his siblings while I fetch water without worrying about their safety. I no longer live in fear, and I am grateful for this solution."

We believe in the power of small changes to make a big difference.
